I don’t want to move abroad...

My husband wants to move to another country because of a work offer, but I dont. This has caused a lot of friction because I dont think he is thinking about every aspect of our future. He is being pragmatic when it comes to financial considerations, but I am concerned about raising a family without any support. Things are starting to get bad because neither of us is in a position to compromise and this is the first major confrontation we have had since we got married three years ago. It has become an ego thing because he wont even listen to his parents or mine. I dont know what to do. If I agree and go with him, I am afraid there may be more arguments and things will get ugly. I am ready to give in just because I am tired. What should I do?An inability to compromise is always difficult because this may be the first of many challenges in your married life together. If neither of you wants to budge, and your reasons are both valid, the only way out may be to accept that one of you will have to be the bigger person. This is unfortunately also unfair, but the alternative is serious damage to your relationship. Another option is trying this out and agreeing to end the situation if it doesnt work for either of you. Since neither of you have moved to this country yet, it may be possible that you both feel differently after experiencing it. Yes, it may still involve uprooting your lives and moving, but a stalemate that doesnt get resolved after a point only leads to anger or resignation, both of which can hamper how you feel about each other. Try taking some time off from this issue, do other things or go on a short holiday, and come back to it in a week or so.
