A late own-goal by Palmeiras goalkeeper Weverton took Chelsea through to the Club World Cup semi-finals on Friday as the Premier League giants edged out the Brazilian team 2-1.
Chelsea lit the spark first, thanks to Cole Palmer (16th minute), who dispatched a low shot past Weverton. Palmeiras equalised eight minutes into the second half, with Estevao, 18, smashing a shot off the crossbar.

“In the first half we were in control and could have scored more. I think we deserved to win without being lucky” said Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, dismissing suggestions his team had been fortunate.
