The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) on Thursday announced a revamp of several bus routes and new services across Mumbai.
The city public transport body has also announced the introduction of air-conditioned (AC) buses on multiple routes, cancellation or alteration of routes, and revised bus schedules.
According to an official statement, the BEST said that the AC bus route A-8, between Mantralaya and Shivaji Nagar Terminus will now operate as A-8. First bus from Mantralaya at 08:05 am and the last bus will now be at 10:50 pm.
From Shivaji Nagar, the first bus is at 06:50 am and the last bus will be at 09:15 pm.
The BEST has shared a complete list of revised timings and routes of its buses-
AC bus route-10: This route will now run via Hutatma Chowk, Bhendi Bazaar, and Mazgaon instead of Museum to Dockyard via Reserve Bank and P D'Mello Road.
Bus route 11: Now diverted via Sant Dnyaneshwar Flyover (Lalbaug), skipping Rani Baug, Jai Hind Cinema, and Lalbaug.
Route 25: Merged into Route 29; it will now operate under the Route 29 name.
Route A-25: Will now terminate at Rani Laxmibai Chowk (Sion) instead of Kurla Depot.
Route 44 to A-44: The Kalachowki to Worli route has been converted to AC service.
Route 56 to A-56 (Sundays only): AC buses will operate on Sundays; regular buses from Monday to Saturday.
Route C-71 Extension: Now extended from Mahim to Kala Killa Depot.
Route 79: Now terminates at Prabodhankar Thackeray Nagar (Charkop).
A-89: Will now run from Monday to Saturday and on public holidays; no service on Sundays.
A-124: Will operate daily between Colaba Bus Station and Worli Depot.
Route 125 to A-125: Diverted via Mohammad Ali Road, now runs as an AC route.
Route 181: Will now terminate at Marol Depot instead of SEEPZ.
Route 212: Diverted via Bhoiwada, Spring Mill, and Sharda Cinema instead of Hindmata and Madkebuwa Chowk.
Route 241 to A-241: Converted to AC service, now runs between Santacruz Depot and Malwani Bus Depot.
Route 243 to A-243: Converted to AC bus service.
Route 343 to A-343: Goregaon to Chitranagari via Santosh Nagar now runs with AC buses.
Route 344 to A-344: Circular AC route between Goregaon Bus Station (East) and Nagari Nivara Project.
Route 347 to A-347: Goregaon to Gokuldham is now an AC service.
A-357: Now terminates at Vasantrao Naik Chowk (Tardeo) instead of Mumbai Central Depot.
A-399: Will now run between Trombay and Maharana Pratap Chowk (Mulund), ending earlier than before.
Route 452 to A-452: Converted to AC service between Goregaon and Mayur Nagar.
Route 456: Converted to a general circular route; no longer classified as A-456.
Route 459 to A-459: Mulund to Malvani now runs as an AC route.
A-488: Route revised via Sant Narasi Mehta Marg and Asalfa Village instead of Kurla-Andheri pipeline stretch.
Route 602 to A-602: AC service now runs between Kanjurmarg Station (West) and Hiranandani (Powai).
Route 626 to A-626: Malad Station to Bhujale Talao converted to AC service.
A-180: Now re-routed via Bahar Cinema, Gokhale Flyover, and Swami Vivekanand Road.
New AC route A-175: Introduced between Pratiksha Nagar Depot and Prabodhankar Thackeray Udyan (Dadar - Portuguese Church) via Antop Hill and Wadala Church.
New route A-490: Introduced between Mantralaya and Dadlani Park, Balkum (Thane West) via Eastern Freeway and Expressway. Operates only during morning and evening peak hours.
"The changes aim to improve commuter comfort and efficiency across the city’s BEST buses," officials said.
