Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise took the audience by storm. While Allu Arjun impressed with his swag and attitude in the film, Samantha Ruth Prabhu made everyone groove with her popular and sensual item number Oo Antava. Ever since the song was released in 2021, it has remained a fan favourite. Now, years later, the film’s composer, Devi Sri Prasad, has accused a 'English' singer of copying his song without his authority. Although he did not specifically name the song or the singer, all fingers are pointed at Turkish singer Atiye, whose recently released song Anlayana, bears uncanny similarities. Expressing his disappointment, he also said that he is considering taking legal action against the singer.

Devi Sri Prasad claims Oo Antava was copied

Speaking to the media, DSP said in Telugu, “You’ve all enjoyed the ‘Oo Antava’ song from Pushpa. I created that song in five minutes while working in my studio. There is no place on this Earth where that song hasn’t been played, and now an English singer has copied the song." "This is an example of how our music has international appeal," he added.

DSP further shared, "I am thinking about filing a case against them and what to do. But I am proud that our Telugu song has been copied."

About the song

Although DSP chose not to name any artist in his comment, many fans pointed out that he was talking about the Turkish song Anlayana, composed by Atiye. The track was released last year, seven months ago. Interestingly, the comments section of the music video is already flooded with fans pointing out how strikingly similar it is to Oo Antava.

On the other hand, the song ‘Oo Antava’, which originally had Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a bold new avatar, was a superhit song when it was released. The song was featured in the first instalment of Pushpa, directed by Sukumar. The catchy beats have been composed by DSP, and the mass appeal the film enjoyed made it a chart-topping number, not only in India but also in international circles.
