The final rites for Irfan Shaikh were held at a graveyard in Nehru Nagar, attended by family, neighbours, friends, and political leaders. Shaikh was aboard Air India flight AI 171, a London-bound Boeing 787 Dreamliner carrying 241 people, which crashed into a medical college complex in Ahmedabad on June 12, just moments after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
