In a shocking turn of events, Colombian Senator and 2026 presidential candidate Miguel Uribe was shot during a campaign event in Bogota on June 7. The 39-year-old politician, a key member of the opposition Democratic Centre party founded by former President Álvaro Uribe, was reportedly shot in the back while addressing supporters in a public park in the Fontibón neighbourhood.
